Artist Statement

My practice is an investigative process, a search for understanding through material engagement and formal experimentation. I approach art process as a form of discovery—an inquiry into perception, materiality, and the structures that shape my reality. Through the use of domesticated materials, I explore the relationships between self, environment, and process, capturing ephemeral moments of entanglement that mirror my own shifting perceptions.

My practice explores my worldview using material experimentations like hot glue, graphite, and paper as a navigating medium to mirror my understanding of the world in its natural structure. Through these material interactions, I negotiate the boundaries between self, environment, and process to achieve creative freedom. By guiding the materials while relinquishing control, I capture fleeting moments where chance and intention converge.

Reflection—both literal and conceptual—recurs as a central motif in my work. Like a mirror, my practice absorbs and refracts the world around me, questioning the way I see and interpret it. This tension allows me to investigate phenomenology, embracing the physical and sensory experience of making as a way to access deeper truths.

Repetition weaves a golden thread throughout my work, as motifs of malleability, transformation, and instability continually resurface. Writing and material experimentation become tools for investigation, revealing patterns and structures that might otherwise remain unseen. In this ongoing process, my work does not seek fixed conclusions but instead embraces uncertainty, inviting a continual unfolding of meaning.
